A geeky baby quilt

I made a Hogwarts house baby quilt for my cousin and his wife and their baby boy. The quilt was made from fabric remaining from the last Hogwarts blanket that I made last year, with a golden minky backing so it was extra cozy. {"cameraType":"Wide","macroEnabled":false,"qualityMode":3,"deviceTilt":-0.035436242818832397,"customExposureMode":0,"extendedExposure":false,"whiteBalanceProgram":0,"cameraPosition":1,"focusMode":0}

Tropical batik hexagon quilt

The quilt for my best friends wedding gift is complete. It’s the biggest quilt I’ve made yet, and made much more quickly than usual, thanks in part to staying at home these last weeks. It’s in blue batiks with tropical colors, hexagon pattern with blue triangles between. 112” x 98”, a little bigger than king... Continue Reading →

Hogwarts Rainbow quilt

I found some great Hogwarts house fabrics at the quilt expo but they only had a few fat quarters, not enough to do a whole quilt. I worked them into a larger rainbow pattern so they would add visual interest, but not be the first thing you noticed. I used a staggered rainbow so each... Continue Reading →

Navy kimono quilt

My friend Kristen adores Japanese culture, she's an anime fan and she practices akido, so I wanted to make her wedding quilt showcase that aesthetic. I bought remnants of kimono fabric on Etsy to give her quilt genuine Japanese flair, instead of relying on the caricature of Japanese design motifs that one finds in Midwestern... Continue Reading →

Dino baby quilt

I made a dinosaur themed baby quilt for my friends’ new baby boy. The backing material is blue minky so it’s very soft. The binding is blue satin ribbon.

Winnie the Pooh Quilt

I made a Winnie the Pooh quilt for my son. Made with peach flannel sashing and gold minky backing, its so soft and cuddly. I came across the Winnie the Pooh fabric from Camelot Fabrics at the International Quilt expo last year and got so inspired to make a children's quilt, one that is bigger... Continue Reading →

Flannel baby quilt

I made a neutral baby quilt for a girlfriend of mine. It has little ducks and turtles and flowers on it, in shades of sage green and sunny yellow. The backing is soft flannel also. It’s a repeating pattern of squares.

Green flannel quilt

I had so much cozy flannel fabrics in various greens that I made a quilt for my friend Whitney. Its not based on any pattern, I just cut what fabric I had and stitched it together. I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out.

Green and cream quilt

I finished another quilt!  This one is based on the Rhythm & Blues quilt pattern.  It is definitely the most intricate quilt I've made yet, because all the cream colored squares are actually pieced strips. And I worked very hard in arranging the green and cream fabrics so that they were distributed evenly, without identical... Continue Reading →
